Professor W. Christian Buss delivers seminars on topics ranging from Marketing Management through Corporate Strategy.  He has extensive experience teaching International Business and International Marketing.  His primary audience consists of middle and senior managers in EMBA and other executive training programs.  His seminars and classes focus on teaching participants how to think about their business and to communicate the results of that thinking effectively.  He builds strong links between corporate strategy, marketing and the global arena.

Professional Profile

W. Christian Buss retired from the School of Business at the State University of New York/University at Albany to concentrate full-time on executive education.  Upon his retirement, the UAlbany President named him to the rank of Professor Emeritus.  He is a member of the faculty at the Lorange Insitutte of Business (formerly, the Graduate School of Business Administration in Zurich, Switzerland) with regular executive teaching assignments in executive programs with the Rotterdam School of  Management, Leiden University, Institute of Banking Studies (Kuwait), the Levin Institute and private organizations.  He received his Ph.D. in Marketing from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  He is actively involved in helping U.S. and European companies develop domestic and international strategic opportunities.  He taught the ExportNY program in Albany, NY from 1998-2004.

Buss has received a total of fifteen different teaching awards for his programs at various schools.  He was given a Special Recognition Award from the Global Business Network and the Capital Region World Trade Center for his support of international initiatives in the Capital Region of New York in 2004.  His Ph.D. dissertation won the first-place award as the best dissertation in Marketing from the American Marketing Association in 1980.
